Fan Guest of Honor Randal Brandt

Randal S. Brandt is a librarian at UC Berkeley’s Bancroft Library where he serves as Head of Cataloging and as Curator of the California Detective Fiction Collection. He taught rare book cataloging at the California Rare Book School from 2009 to 2021 and is a longtime member of the American Library Association’s Rare Books and Manuscripts Section and the Northern California chapter of Mystery Writers of America.

He created and maintains Golden Gate Mysteries, an online annotated bibliography of crime fiction set in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has contributed critical introductions to new editions of novels by California mystery writers David Dodge, Lange Lewis, and Nancy Barr Mavity. He has also moderated panel discussions and conducted author interviews at Left Coast Crime, Bouchercon, Litquake, and the Bay Area Book Festival.

Randal lives in Berkeley, California.
