Squid Lit

Every so often we will post a squid-related excerpt from a mystery book here. If you can identify the book (one entry) and/or the author (one entry) for each Squid Lit quote, your name will be placed into the Squid Swag Sack. At the conclusion of the contest, names will be drawn for prizes.

Squid Lit #1
Ernie lay flat on his butt, a flimsy wooden door beneath him. The latticework paneling fronting someone’s bedroom had been smashed open. Tattered strips of oiled paper fluttered like the tentacles of a squashed squid.
