Timothy HallinanTimothy Hallinan is the Edgar, Lefty, Shamus, and Macavity-nominated author of sixteen published novels, including six Bangkok-set thrillers about an American travel writer, Poke Rafferty, most recently For the Dead; four comic mysteries starring Los Angeles burglar, Junior Bender, who moonlights as a private eye for crooks, the most recent of which is Herbie's Game; and six cult-status private-eye novels featuring L.A. private detective named Simeon Grist.

Hallinan has two books due in 2015: the seventh in the Rafferty series, The Hot Countries, and the fifth Junior Bender, King Maybe.  He edited Shaken: Stories for Japan, which raised more than $75,000 for tsunami relief in 2011, and Making Story: Twenty-One Writers on How They Plot, the first in a series for aspiring novelists. He lives in Los Angeles and Bangkok and is fortunate enough to be married to Munyin Choy.
