The Left Coast Crime 2009 Board is pleased to announce details about the Book Awards to be offered in three categories at their Brunch Banquet Ceremony, March 11, 2009, at the Marriott Waikoloa Hotel, Hawaii.

Awards will be offered, for books published, in English (anywhere), between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008 in the following three categories:

THE LEFTY: Best humorous mystery
THE BRUCE ALEXANDER MEMORIAL HISTORICAL MYSTERY: A historical mystery, covering events before 1950
HAWAII FIVE-0: Law enforcement, police procedural

In addition, the Dilys Award was presented by the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association at the Left Coast Crime awards ceremony. The winner was Sean Chercover's Trigger City.
