In addition to membership, Left Coast Crime is made possible through the sponsorship of both local and national organizations. We would like to recognize and thank those organizations and business who contributed to making LCC 2013 happen.
Sisters in Crime, Inc. supported Left Coast Crime in 2008 and now in 2013. In 2008, the local chapter (previously-based in Colorado Springs) shouldered the hospitality duties in the hospitality/auction room. They provided snacks, beverages and hosts with knowlege throughout the entire convention. This year the national organization has earmarked a substantial sum to host the Saturday Night Reception at Left Coast Crime 2013. Everyone is invited to attend!
Mystery Writers of America-Rocky Mountain Chapter (RMMWA) has always been a BIG supporter of Colorado-based Left Coast Crimes. In 2008 they sponsored the Friday evening welcome event (with matching funds from National HQ), complete with hors d'ouevres, a cash bar and the presentation of the awards for Best Rabbit (one of the illustrious authors in attendance) and Best Tracker (one of our revered fans), the culmination of an hour-long workshop on Tailing a Suspect, taught by retired DEA agent, R.T. Lawton, and an hilarious cat and mouse game, played out on the 16th St. Mall in Denver. This year they have already committed a substantial sum to help host an event to remember.
